Hello, Dear Readers.

First, I wanted to say thank you to everyone that has been reading my blog. Even if it’s just 1 or 2 posts here and there. I really do appreciate it. I’m a newbie and as this is a hobby over income source, I’m learning as I go. 💜 That being said, with the “Stay at Home” order here and me working from home, I’ve been able to focus more on my home life and interests. Namely, this blog and how I see it going forward.

That brings me to the second and main thing I want to share with you. I’ve noticed, as I’m sure you have, that this blog has a bit of an identity crisis. I have 2 big loves… Books and Travel. I’m a military spouse, after all, and I’ve never truly felt tied down to one spot anyway. So I really wanted to combine these loves here but try as I might, I can’t seem to come up with a smooth formula. Is it a book blog with occasional travel posts? A travel blog with book reviews? Books that, if I’m being honest, aren’t even close to being considered travel related. So I’ve made a decision. I’m splitting them up.

Moving forward, my blog and Facebook page will focus solely on books and all things reading. I’m not going to remove the previous posts I’ve done on local places though. They can stay in the archive for anyone curious. However, the “Wandering” part of Wandering Reader will be moved to my Instagram page – @WanderingReader84. There, I’ll continue to do mini thoughts and photos of places that I explore. It seems a better environment for that anyway (plus I suck at the #Bookstagram pics). Lastly, Twitter will remain a conduit for all of it and other random thoughts. 😊 A “one-stop shop” if you will.

So if you enjoy the reads, please continue to do so here. I promise you’ll see more streamlined content for that in the future. 📚 If you’re more interested in my travels, check out and follow my IG page. (I’ve got some hiking and dog gear commentary on tap in the next couple of days!) 🐾 🥾
